Hogan Geikie Poole Lawyers are a two partner legal practice in the centre of the Sydney CBD which has been continuing since it was originally commenced by William Arnott in 1890.
Neil Geikie took over the firm from the previous existing partnership in 1995 and as the work and the client base in the firm grew, Rachel Clarke became an employee and then made a partner of the firm in 2003.
Many of the lawyers who have been employed by HGP have become partners in larger firms, some have become Barristers and two of them became Judges of the District Court of New South Wales.
Unlike many other firms, HGP do not profess to have expertise in every area of law, however the areas that we do practise in, are areas in which we are highly experienced and competent.
We have access to specialist advocacy and forensic expertise, if required which is at our finger tips. We have a close working relationship with the best of Barristers from the Sydney Bar and the most skilled scientists, forensic engineers and accountants, available in the Sydney environment.
We frequently recommend and take a multi disciplinary or team approach as and when required and depending on the budget of our clients.
The lawyer you are referred to or wish to act for you at HGP, is the lawyer who will conduct your case. Unlike larger firms, we will not pass your case onto junior or inexperienced staff which can often result in your case being inefficiently dealt with, costing you more in fees.
We expect you to trust us with your instructions to carry out your legal work and we encourage you to ask questions about strategies, technical issues, and the strengths and weaknesses of your case. As much as possible we try and avoid nasty surprises for you, by discussing potential problems and the likely costs involved with your case in advance.
